Telluride palm theater
For years, many in Telluride fervently envisioned a performing arts center in town and those dreams finally came true. The Michael Palm Theater is now a grand venue for arts enthusiasts to delight in various types of performances. Named as a tribute to Michael Palm, one of a group who tried and failed to win voter approval for a performing arts center 10 years ago, construction of the theater was approved in 2002 as an enhancement to the Telluride Middle/High School expansion. The acoustically engineered 600-person locale opened in August 2004 with a performance by the much adored Mudd Butts, a children’s theater troupe, and underwent an official dedication weekend in March 2005.
