TELLURIDE HAS STRONG REBOUND THIS SKI SEASON

After suffering through the closures and the downturn last ski season due to the pandemic, the 2021-22 season in Telluride returned to pre-pandemic seasons, or even better in some regards. Skier numbers, lodging numbers, sales tax revenues all climbed back to levels of the 2018-19 season, which was one of the biggest seasons ever. The average daily rates (ADR) for lodging this season hit $902, which is 170 percent above the ADR of $530 in 2018-19. Another change for overall tourism is the increasing number of visitors throughout the winter season. For both Telski and the Montrose Regional Airport, visitor/passenger numbers are improving in the shoulder seasons and are more consistent throughout the winter.
