COLORADO-MADE SPACECRAFT SET FOR MISSION TO THE MOON

NASA announced this week its Artemis I mission with an Orion capsule, which is intended to carry astronauts on missions to the moon and return them to the lunar surface as soon as 2025, will take off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center at 6:33 a.m. Mountain Time next Monday, without astronauts on board. Jefferson County-based Lockheed Martin Space is the prime contractor leading the development and manufacturing of Orion capsules and one of Lockheed's key suppliers for the mission is SG Aerospace and Gas of Grand Junction. Assuming the success of the Artemis I mission, SG Aerospace and Gas will continue to be involved with the Artemis program going forward.
