Chad Horning, a co-owner of Telluride Ski & Golf, appeared before the Telluride Town Council Tuesday to provide an update on the replacement of Lift 9 on the mountain. The aged Lift 9, which had been installed in 1985, was a triple-chair known as the Plunge Lift, that carried skiers to expert terrain. The replacement lift towers will be installed in about three weeks and Horning said everything is on schedule for a load test on Dec. 16. Following the load test, Horning said it takes about a week to have the lift fully operational, so it will be working, "for sure by the holiday." |
