| Gondola closes for fall maintenance October 17, buses to run through November 17 |
| Special Thanks Town of Mountain Village. This Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, will be the gondola’s last day of operation before closing for several weeks of required biannual maintenance. The gondola will reopen for the winter season on Friday, November 18, 2022 and run through Sunday, April 2, 2023. Each fall and spring the gondola, which connects Mountain Village and Telluride, closes for routine safety inspections and maintenance. A free bus service is offered during this time as an alternative. The bus route is operated by the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) and they will be utilizing their green buses for the service. Buses will run 6:10 a.m.-12:05 a.m. with stops in Lawson Hill and throughout Mountain Village and Telluride. There will also be an express route between Market Plaza and the Telluride Court House. Once the gondola closes, Telluride Ski & Golf will be closing all public access — including all trails, hiking, biking and skiing — to the ski area starting October 17. This closure will allow the resort to prepare for the winter season, and access will resume when the resort opens. |
