Telluride, CO - November 27, 2023 – The ski resort will open on Saturday, December 2nd.
We have come a long way since announcing our delayed opening. Mother Nature has provided cold temps, some natural snowfall, and our snowmaking team took advantage of every opportunity to make snow.
As a result, we will be opening this Saturday with Lift 4, the Chondola, and wall-to-wall coverage on the following runs:
- Village Bypass to Lower Boomerang, access in and out of Gorrono, Upper Misty Maiden, The Meadows, both Magic Carpets, and ski-out access from the Village Parking Garage via Double Cabins.
- A bonus run off of lift 4 is possible
Gorrono Ranch, Ski School, and Cubs Camp will also open on December 2nd.
“While we were eager to open and the delayed opening was far from ideal, it was productive.” – said Brandon Green, Director of Snowmaking
The ski resort will open with Village Express (Lift 4) and the Chondola (Lift 1). The following terrain will be accessible: Village Bypass to Lower Boomerang, access in and out of Gorrono, Upper Misty Maiden, The Meadows, both Magic Carpets, and ski-out access from the Village Parking Garage via Double Cabins.
“The work completed over the past two weeks allows us to open with a safe, quality ski experience and wall-to-wall coverage. These efforts will pay dividends for future terrain openings as well.”- added Green
The run Butterfly is still a ways out. Though there will be access from the Gondola Mid station via a hike to Village Bypass, the ski resort encourages guests to ride the gondola to Mountain Village and access the mountain via Lift 4.
Gorrono Ranch, Ski School, and Cubs Camp will also open on December 2nd.
For everyone’s safety, please note that all access to the resort remains closed until opening day. This includes hiking, downhill skiing, uphill skinning, and sledding.
More updates to follow as future terrain openings are confirmed.
